THE PEARL OF VALUEABLE AND IMPORTANT

- LUSTRE
The most appreciated factor of a pearl's beauty. Good quality
pearls have a lustrous gream.
- SURFACE
The smoothness of a pearl's surface. The less blemishes
a pearl has on its surface, the higher it is ranked.
- SHAPE
Thr rounders pearls are valued more highly, though off-round,
drop and baroque shapes have been acquiring greater popularity.
- COLOR
Though pearls come in a variety of colors, rose-white or
silver-pink pearls have been the most popular and expensive.
- SIZE
The size of pearl depends on the size of the bead inserted
into the mother oyster and the thickness of the nacre. The
latter is one of the most important factors in determining
quality.
- CARE OF PEARLS
Please keep your pearls away from perfume, cosmetics, perspriration
and stains. After each wearing, wipe your pearls carefully
with a soft cloth and keep them seperate from other jewelry
items. The silk thread of a pearl necklace will eventually
slacken or weaken over time. It is recommended that you
check the thread regularly and replace it if necessary.
